About the role

The Coordinator plays a key role in supporting high-quality service delivery within the SASS clinical team. This role ensures that referrals, waitlist processes, and allocations are managed transparently, consistently and safely.

Working closely with the Senior Practitioner and Therapeutic Specialists, the Coordinator ensures that clients receive timely and appropriate support, and that practitioners are supported with debriefing and operational guidance.

Your role as Coordinator – Adults Counselling Program will include:

  • Holding a small counselling caseload
  • Reviewing, assessing and triaging incoming referrals
  • Coordinating waitlist processes and client allocation in collaboration with senior clinical staff
  • Supporting Therapeutic Specialists with client management, debriefing and operational coordination
  • Coordinating team meetings, documentation and follow-up actions
  • Supporting program reporting, service documentation and continuous quality improvement
  • Contributing to collaboration across SASS and partner programs
  • Ensuring all practice aligns with trauma-informed, ethical and professional standards

About you

You bring relevant professional experience working in a counselling or therapeutic setting, ideally supporting victim-survivors of sexual harm, and you have a strong understanding of the associated concerns and presentations.

You hold a degree in counselling, psychology or social work and are eligible for membership with a relevant professional association (APS, AASW or PACFA).

You are a skilled clinician with experience applying a range of trauma-informed therapeutic approaches, and you are confident working with people who have experienced trauma.

You have experience in intake, triage, referral management and caseload coordination, and you understand the importance of safe, timely and ethical decision-making.

You work confidently within ethical frameworks and understand mandatory reporting requirements and risk assessment processes.

This position will be a 0.8 FTE permanent position. This role is located at the SASS offices in the Hobart CBD.
