SASS submission - Renaming Sexual Offences consultation paper

SASS recently submitted a response to the Tasmanian Government's consultation paper on Renaming Sexual Offences. The paper explores option to review the language used in the crime of ‘Maintaining a sexual relationship with a young person’ contrary to Section 125A of the Criminal Code, as well as other sexual crimes in Chapter XIV. SASS welcomes legislative change in this area, and believes that the proposed changes will better reflect the nature of child sexual assault.
