Bequests
What is a bequest?
A bequest is the legal process of leaving (or 'bequeathing') money or gifts via your will.
Why leave a bequest to us?
Volunteering a gift in your will to SASS, no matter how big or small, will help us to provide specialised assistance to our clients. It will also assist us to continue offering a range of training and community education activities, as well as providing information and support to professionals.
Bequests can also benefit survivors of sexual violence in other ways, including:
Monetary donations to SASS can also be made instantly via Paypal, by clicking HERE.
- Assistance with transport costs for low-income families to enable them to access our services
- Research into areas of need regarding the prevention of or response to sexual violence
- Particular resources such as art supplies or children's games for use in therapy sessions
- Any other “specific purpose” you may wish to nominate
Suggested wording for your will:
If you or your solicitor would like to speak to us about leaving a bequest in your will, please do not hesitate to contact our Chief Executive Officer (Jill Maxwell) on 6231 0044.
“I advise and bequeath to the Sexual Assault Support Service Inc (specific sum or percentage of your estate) to be used for (nominate where you would like the money to be spent from the suggested categories above, or for a specific purpose of your choice)."
Advising SASS in advance that a bequest will be made will greatly assist us in planning for the future, but is not essential.
