'Playing Cards'
Exposure to Health Message project
The common stories about women in prison are influenced by the media and popular culture. They are rarely the women’s stories.
This pack of playing cards is the result of women in Risdon Prison, Tasmania, working together in developing ideas, the designs, messages and colour schemes.
Creativity, a sense of fun and enthusiasm have been essential in the development of this pack of cards. It also tells of an alternative story of the women involved,
We thank all the community services involved for their support with special thanks to Chrissie Hall-Pascoe and Amanda Walker. Project Worker Anne Stephens.
This Project was funded through the Tasmanian Community Fund 2004 and under the auspices of the Sexual Assault Support Service Inc (SASS). These Playing Cards are not available
for sale as this project has been completed, but they can be viewed on our site,
click on the button below to view a small sample of these cards.
If you would like further information about the project please
contact SASS.
